Inspiring Stories of Biblical Women

What makes the women of the Bible so interesting to so many is, they are real people in not so real sounding circumstances.
Throughout history God has shown the importance He holds concerning women, and the major roles He has enabled them to accomplish.
Did the women we read about today know that millennial years later other women would learn from their experiences?  It is a safe guess they did not.  Do we understand that what we do and say today will have an impact on others many years from now?  Probably not.
The women we learn a little something about were just every day, ordinary women doing every day, ordinary things.  All lived extra-ordinary lives after God called them for His special, individual service.
None of these women were able to see into the future.  We may not see the results in the here and now, but our lives can and will affect the hereafter.  What is at play here is not a cute Bible story but God’s power at work.  None of these women, on their own, could have done what they accomplished.
Some of these women we will look at were young, some old, and some paid consequences because of other’s actions.  Others were headstrong in having their own way. Some were brave beyond measure and some were the personification of evil.
Each of these women have their own personalized story, but with each, their life shows all things are possible with God no matter what the circumstances.

These are the women we will become better acquainted with:

  1. Potiphar’s wife – teaches God always makes a way for us to overcome our enemies.
  2. Deborah – teaches our battle belongs to the Lord.
  3. Delilah – teaches being financially rich but morally poor doesn’t pay in the end.
  4. Naomi – teaches how to go from bitter to better to best.
  5. Hannah – teaches hope, faith and love bring life.
  6. Abigail – teaches it really is better to give than to receive.
  7. Jezebel – teaches what “ugly to the bone” really looks like.
  8. Salome – teaches “like mother, like daughter” to a whole new level.
  9. Mary Magdalene – teaches we are to stand firm – at the foot of the cross.
  10. Elizabeth – teaches great patience brings about great reward.
  11. Joanna – teaches giving with a joyful heart pays great dividends.
  12. The Adulterous woman – teaches us to examine ourselves before a rush to judgment takes over.
  13. Priscilla – teaches us that you do not have to have a great name to do great things
  14. Lois & Eunice – teach the necessity to teach others be them family, friends or strangers put on our path.

What is ultimately taught by these women, be them known or unknown, is our lives touch and teach others, be it for the good, the better, the bad, or the ugly.
All these women’s lives are proof God is in complete control with His power on unmistakable display.
With the lives of these women, as with the lives of women today, God works in miraculous ways to influence the lives of many.
May we all make a positive difference in whatever circumstance the Lord may place us in for His glory, our good and the eternal well-being of others.
